Where to stay in Belek: pick a compound, not a neighbourhood

Belek is a row of large hotels, golf courses and a long beach. The ‘area’ is the hotel. Read the board basis, the kids’ club, and the transfer time from AYT — not a street name.

  • All-inclusiveHow most people book
  • GolfWinter as well as summer
  • FamiliesThe other main guest
  • AYT ~45 minAirport

The one rule

The hotel is the place. Belek does not have a neighbourhood theory like Sultanahmet or Kaş. The Belek guide is honest about that. This page is how to compare the compounds without pretending you are booking a village.

Kadriye, Belek, Boğazkent

Kadriye
Western end, toward Antalya, lots of large family and golf hotels, easy AYT transfer.
Belek
The name on the brochure, golf courses, a small actual village that is not why you came.
Boğazkent / east
Toward Side, still sand, still resorts, a slightly longer hop to AYT and a shorter one to Side town.

These names matter less than: Is the beach in front of the hotel, or a shuttle across a road? Is the golf course on site? Does the kids’ club take your child’s age in the week you are travelling? Belek hotels should be compared as properties, then pinned on the map so you see how far “a walk to the village” really is.

Golf vs family

Winter and early spring are golf weeks: milder than northern Europe, courses that are the point, swimming pools that are secondary. Summer is families and all-inclusive: heat, animation teams, a beach that earns the sand-versus-Kemer-pebble argument.

Do not book a golf hotel in August because the fairway photograph looked green, then discover the clientele is a kids’ club. Do not book a family palace in February because the nightly rate collapsed, then find half the restaurants shut. Match the season to the product. The Antalya all-inclusive page is the wider version of this decision.

Vs Side and Kaleiçi

Side’s peninsula has ruins in the streets. Kaleiçi has a harbour and a city. Belek has a spa bracelet and a fairway. If you want one cultural day, take a transfer to Side or Antalya and come back. If you want culture every evening, you booked the wrong strip — use Side hotels or Antalya hotels.

How to book it

Filter all-inclusive if that is the maths you wanted, then read the last three months of reviews for food, beach seaweed (it happens), and renovation noise. Pre-book the AYT transfer; the strip is not a taxi-rank surprise you will enjoy with golf bags or a travel cot.

School holidays in the UK, Germany and Russia move prices more than the Turkish domestic calendar. Book those weeks early or pick a shoulder month and a smaller kids’ club.

Common questions

Where is the best area to stay in Belek?

Inside a hotel you actually want to spend a week in. Kadriye, Belek village and Boğazkent are adjacent bits of the same strip. Differences are the hotel’s beach, golf access, and how far the shuttle is to Side or Antalya — not a walkable old town.

Is Belek good for families?

Yes, that is half the product: kids’ clubs, shallow pools, long sand, all-inclusive maths. It is a weak choice if you wanted cobbles, a castle walk, and restaurants you pick each night. Read recent reviews for the specific kids’ club age range, not a brochure photograph.

Can I walk to restaurants from a Belek hotel?

Sometimes to a neighbouring resort or a small strip mall. Often not. Treat the hotel as the destination. If you want to walk to dinner through ruins, book Side’s peninsula or Kaleiçi instead.

Belek or Side for a first Turkey beach holiday?

Belek for golf, families, and a sealed resort week. Side if you want a Roman theatre and a temple at sunset within a walk, with the option of an east-strip all-inclusive. They are close on the map and different in the evening.

When should I book Belek hotels?

School holidays and Christmas golf weeks sell the big names first. Shoulder months (May, June, September, October) are easier and usually better weather for walking the beach. August is hot and full. Winter is golf weather, not swimming weather.
